How to Turn off the Face Pane (profile pics) in Outlook 2010 PC

Remove the People Pane in Two Easy Steps:

Removing the People Pane

Removing the People Pane

1. While looking at your e-mail inbox, choose the “View” toolbar at the top of the page.

2. Toward the right side of the ribbon, click on “People Pane” and click “Off”. When you re-click on People Pane, you will see a check mark next to off. You will also no longer see the faces staring at you when you open e-mails and meeting invites.

I was advised that it is rather annoying, constantly seeing the faces of coworkers staring at you each time you open an email or appointment in Outlook. I was told that with many people included in an email or meeting invitation that this panel of profile pictures can sometimes obscure or make it difficult to find the content of the message.

When I did a cursory Google search to figure out how to turn off this face pane, no immediate results offered a victorious conclusion. Upon closer exploration, I solved the issue by removing the bar of photos from e-mails and meeting reminders.
