Film Review | LEGO Batman: The Movie – DC Super Heroes Unite

LEGO Batman: The Movie - DC Super Heroes Unite (2013) DVD cover imageWhen I found LEGO Batman on Amazon, I ordered it right away for the library and put a hold on it. I thought it sounded good, but it was quite spectacular. This is no mere Lego movie, this is a highly appealing piece of visual art with a dialogue written well enough to make me laugh several times. I don’t give it up so easy. Yes, I have seen all the Batman movies, but that does not have a bearing on this film’s strengths. Batman and Superman having to take the public bus is just a good idea.

The plot of this movie involves a presidential race featuring Lex Luthor and Bruce Wayne as opponents. Lex teams up with Joker to eliminate the competition and of course LL’s arch rival, Superman – who happens to be quite the Batman backer. Besides appearances from some of Batman’s oldtime foes (Penguin, Catwoman, Riddler, Two-Face, etc.), the viewer can also look forward to meeting a Lego version of the Justice League (Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, etc.). So to sum it all up, this is a great movie. The jokes are funny, the pictures are pretty and the DVD comes with multiple audio and subtitle languages. Check it out.
